Fuckboys: the Musical

Fuckboys: the Musical

In 2017, I decided to take a page out of Taylor Swiftā€™s book and write a revenge musical about my first true heartbreak, and the rest, as they say, is herstory.

Itā€™s undergone many updates and edits since its inception, but Fuckboys: The Musical remains one of the highlights ā€” and really, the start ā€” of my career.

The Fuckboys Timeline

    May 2018

Premiering at the 27th Annual Orlando Fringe Festival, Fuckboys: the Musical was praised for its emotional ā€” and hilarious ā€” score of 8 original songs, with each female lead having her own solo.

Fuckboys originally began as a 60-minute show featuring four women and two men. Each character is nameless, categorized only by their specific archetype, so everyone in the audience is able to relate them back to someone specific in their own lives.

  • Fuckboys: the Musical at the Tampa Bay Theatre Festival, September 2018. Featuring (from L-R) Kendall Leamy, Meghan Knight (Mitchell), Savannah Pedersen, Kasea Seabrook, and Nishaa Johnson (Carson).

    September 2018

After being awarded the (unexpected) honor of Best Musical at Orlando Fringe, Fuckboysā€™ next stop was the Tampa Bay Theatre Festival that September. It was a whirlwind, one night-only performance, where Fuckboys was once again awarded Best Musical ā€” an honor we learned about while sitting in an airport lounge in Los Angeles, halfway through our journey down under to attend the 2018 Melbourne Fringe Festival.

This was the showā€™s third festival circuit within six months of its premiere.

    January 2019

Taking the knowledge we learned in our first year, Fuckboys returned to its roots as part of Orlando Fringeā€™s Winter Mini Fringe, now FESTN4. With three festivals, two awards, and a dedicated fanbase under its belt, this iteration of the show featured four additional songs ā€” created with the help of the extraordinary Elaine Contignola ā€” and a beefed-up script that dove deeper into the characters and story.

What started as an hour-long glimpse into the modern dating scene was now a fully-fleshed out, 90-minute musical.

    May 2019

After completely revamping the score with the help of Elaine and the inimitable Jacob Fjeldheim, we added five songs to the original libretto ā€” just in time for Fuckboys to win the CAFF (Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals) lottery and embark on a 5-city tour of Ontario, Canada.

Traveling for over two and a half months from Windsor to Ottawa, Fuckboys picked up an additional three awards in the Great White North!

Thoughts About You

Thoughts About You

A full-length original musical featuring sixteen fully-orchestrated compositions

Thoughts About You is the story of Jo and Shane, two creative individuals who bond over the course of twelve weeks by sharing their love of pop culture through a series of lists of films and songs from different eras.

Featuring a stellar cast, Thoughts also serves as the second installment in what Iā€™m calling the Fuckboys Theatrical Universe, where all of my work is interconnected via hidden details and Easter eggs.

Thoughts is its own storyā€¦

but itā€™s also a prequel,

providing a backstory for one of the original four women of Fuckboys.

The goal is that as I build out this theatrical universe, the four original women who started it all in Fuckboys will have fleshed-out backstories ā€” or at the very least, weā€™ll get to see what happens to them after Fuckboys. Itā€™s pretty exciting. Itā€™s also a reason for me to excuse why I didnā€™t give them names in the first place.

Love is Infinite - A Showcase of Dance, Music, and Theater

My first official foray into live entertainment as a Director and Producer, this showcase is near and dear to my heart.

A celebration of the different kinds of love we experience in our lifetime, Love is Infinite is a triumphant display of the power of love ā€” and the human capacity to feel.

I was 20 years old when this show was conceived and executed, featuring a dedicated & passionate cast of local performers (people Iā€™m lucky enough to call my friends), who rendered the audience to puddles of tears every single night.
